Michael Keaton is in talks to join Tom Hiddleston and J.K. Simmons for a rendezvous at Kong: Skull Island...
NewsAfter facing the winged fears of artistic failure in Birdman, it appears Michael Keaton is ready to go bananas with a reinvigorated career. Indeed, it is now being reported that the actor is in talks to star in Kong: Skull Island.
Keaton, who is currently one of several major contenders for the Best Actor race in this year’s awards season, would be joining Tom Hiddleston of The Avengers and J.K. Simmons of Whiplash for the project, which is being bundled by Legendary Pictures and Universal.
Kong: Skull Island is a distinct “reimagining” of the King Kong narrative that previous studio materials have said “honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.”
Directed by the relative newcomer Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and from a screenplay by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) and John Gatins (Real Steel), the film is also one of the first fully formed projects since Legendary Pictures moved from Warner Bros. to Universal for production.
Keaton is currently having a career renaissance courtesy of Birdman, which you can read our review for right here. It also landed on our Top 10 Films of 2014.
