Rocky Spinoff, Creed, adds Phylicia Rashad

Phylicia Rashad will play Apollo Creed's widow, and the mother of the film's title character in Creed. If you somehow haven't gathered this from the headline and the above two sentences, Creedis essentially the sixth seventh film in the Rocky franchise, but without Rocky actually having to strap on a pair of boxing gloves. It's the story about Apollo Creed's son ascendancy as a fighter, with a certain Sylvester Stallone serving as his trainer.

Future Human Torch Michael B. Jordan is playing Apollo Creed's son. Asclepius Creed? Troilius Creed? Coronus Creed? Oh, you get the point. I'm really hoping his name is Asclepius, though. Sylvia Meals played "Mrs. Creed" in Rocky IV.

Creedcomes from Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler and reunites him with the star of that film in Jordan. More as we get it.
