NewsAs had been widely expected, Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions are pressing ahead with another film in The Purge series.
The Purge 3 - as it's currently known - will take a little bit longer to get here though. Rather than the year gap between the first two movies, the third one is set for release on July 1, 2016. That gives returning writer/director James Demonaco twice as long to put this one together.
No further details are known of The Purge 3 yet (so we don't know if Frank Grillo is returning, for instance). But after The Purge: Anarchy - with a big nod to John Carpenter - took things outdoors, we'd be surprised if they went back inside again.
