Viola Davis is working on a multi picture deal to play Amanda Waller in the Suicide Squad movie and beyond...
NewsAmanda Waller might just be the Nick Fury of the DC Cinematic Universe. Viola Davis' involvement in David Ayer's Suicide Squad movie hasn't been a secret, first surfacing back in December, but now it looks like she's going to appear in other DC superhero movies, as well.
Regardless, it sounds like Davis' involvement is all but finalized, as she recently told The Nerd Report:
“I’m fascinated by her in this world of superhero-ness because she is not a woman that you would expect. I think that she is a massive contradiction. She’s this big powerful black woman, hard, ready to pick up a gun and shoot anyone at will. I’m fascinated in exploring her psychology, just put it that way. And I’m excited to pick up a gun.”
So, count her in. And now The Wrap is reporting that her involvement will involve multiple films, which can certainly encompass potential Suicide Squad sequels, but Amanda Waller would make perfect sense in some other DC films, as well. The question is for how many movies. There's no reason she shouldn't show up in the Justice League movie to break everyone's chops, too.
Suicide Squad opens on August 5th, 2016. It also stars Tom Hardy, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie. Quite a cast. Read more about the Suicide Squad movie right here.
