Check out the first four images from a new edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which will be fully-illustrated.
NewsHarry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is one of the most important books of the last 20 years. It was of course the start of the world-dominating series of Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling, not to mention the genesis of the billion-dollar movie franchise. However, it also marked the beginning of the first major book series to bring children’s literature (as well as the eventually retitled “Young Adult” subgenre) to the foreground and inspired a generation to pick up papers bounded to a spine.
Well, it is now getting a new look from publishing house Scholastic, which is releasing the first fully-illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. And with artwork designed by Jim Kay, a Kate Greenaway Medal winner, it certainly is to offer a different, more unique look than those who have grown accustomed to allowing Hollywood to visualize these characters.
Below are illustrations for four major characters—Hermione Granger, Hagrid, Ron Weasley, and Draco Malfoy—for your viewing pleasure.
This edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will be released in deluxe hardcover (and in total color, complete with a ribbon marker) on October 6, 2015.
