Edgar Wright's new film is set to star The Fault In Our Stars' Ansel Elgort, as the financing for the project comes together...
NewsEdgar Wright's next project as director, his first since The World's End (and, of course, his departure from Ant-Man), is set to be Baby Driver, which is being described as "the ultimate rock-and-roll car chase film".
The plot of the film is said to follow a young getaway driver, one who uses the beat of his musical soundtrack to stay ahead of the pack. Yet he finds himself working for a crime boss, and in the midst of what looks like a doomed heist.
The financing for the film has now come together, with Working Title, TriStar and MRC funding the movie. It will be distributed by Sony.
And the first big casting rumour for the movie has popped up too. Ansel Elgort, co-star of last year's huge hit The Fault In Our Stars, is said to be in early talks for the lead role. Variety adds that both Logan Lerman and John Boyega had been interested in the role. Here's Elgort, next to be seen in Insurgent...
We'd imagine that Baby Driver will shoot this year, for release in 2016. But that's not been confirmed as of yet.
