Michael Bay takes a break from Transformers for 13 Hours, which will star The Office's John Krasinski...

News

It looks as if Michael Bay's next project as director will indeed be 13 Hours, the story of when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound in Libya on September 11th 2012. Six American security operators spent 13 hours trying to hold off the attack, and the story has been told in Mitchell Zuckoff's recently released book.

Which happens to be called 13 Hours. You probably worked that out, though.

It was revealed last year that Michael Bay was circling the project, and Chuck Hogan, who penned The Town, has been putting a screenplay together.

Now we learn that casting has begun, and Varietyreports that John Krasinski, best known for his work in the US take on The Office, will be taking on one of the lead roles.

The plan is likely to be for 13 Hours to be a smaller scale production for Bay, more in line with the size of Pain And Gain than one of his Transformers movies. We suspect that the film will shoot this year, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. More as we hear it.

Variety.
