Why the Batman and Superman showdown in Dawn of Justice might not be the one-sided battle you may be expecting...

Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice is the film that's effectively going to launch the first full phase of the DC movie universe for Warner Bros (following up on Man Of Steel in the process). And that's perhaps one of the main reasons why Batman and Superman have been brought together in the same movie, to give things a sizeable lift off.
Given the title of the film, it won't come as much surprise to learn that a fight between Batman and Superman is part of what Zack Snyder has in store for us. And in a new interview, fight and stunt choreographer Guillermo Grispo has been chatting about their showdown.
Grispo revealed that he nearly worked on The Dark Knight for Christopher Nolan, "but ultimately questions about the contract were not resolved." He then worked on a bunch on Zack Snyder projects. "To me, Zack is the biggest name in action films," Grispo argued.
Addressing the confrontation specifically, he said that "there's a thought that Batman has no chance, that [Superman] will squash him like a bug. But when you see the movie, and how it all comes out, there's a very intelligent explanation as to why they would have a firsthand confrontation, though it seems to be totally to Batman's disadvantage".
In the film, "Batman's going to fight the way I've always dreamed him fight. He's a character so prepared in martial arts that you can do a lot of things with him, but filmmakers usually don't go all the way with it."
If you're reading that last sentence as a slight criticism of Christopher Nolan, then you're on the money. "Even in the last Nolan movies the action scenes aren't very good from a technical, martial arts point of view." Grispo clarified that he thinks Nolan "is great," however, just that Snyder pays more attention to the fights.
