George Lucas won't tell us what Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about, but he will tell us what it isn't about...

John Saavedra

While promoting his new animated film, Strange Magic, George Lucas told a very nervous interviewer that Disney hadn't bought into his original treatment for Star Wars Episode VII. Disney apparently decided to go with their own ideas for what would become The Force Awakens. This really is a Star Wars universe now run by the people who grew up loving the original films.

You can check out the short clip of the interview at CinemaBlend

Says Lucas, "The [ideas] that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn’t really want to do those. So they made up their own. So it’s not the ones that I originally wrote."

Before Lucas sold the rights to Star Wars to Disney and The Force Awakens was even a tangible thing, he was planning his own Sequel Trilogy. If you liked Lucas' Prequel Trilogy, you might be a bit disheartened to learn that you'll NEVER see Lucas' ideas for Episode VII and beyond on the big screen. But since we all know that no one feels that way about the prequels, you should probably start celebrating now.

Just kidding, George. You're still okay in my book.
