Ben Stiller's Derek Zoolander will share the screen with Christine Taylor's Matilda Jeffries again in Zoolander 2...
NewsWell folks, this looks like the year that the Zoolander sequel is finally set to go before the cameras. We've been writing about Zoolander 2 for many, many years at Den Of Geek, but it only feels that it's in recent months that the project has gained some proper momentum.
Thus far, we know that Justin Theroux has worked on the screenplay with Ben Stiller. Stiller will once again be playing Derek Zoolander, and once again be directing. Furthermore, last year it was revealed that Penelope Cruz was set to join the cast, and that Will Ferrell would be returning as well.
The latest to confirm they're back? That'd be Christine Taylor, who played Matilda Jeffries in the original Zoolander. Of the sequel, she said to Entertainment Weekly that "I can tell you that I'm involved, but that's all I can say. I can tell you it's happening, but I can't tell you where Matilda's at and where their relationship is at. It's all top secret!"
There you have it. Zoolander 2 is expected to shoot this year - and if they get cracking, it might even be possible to sneak it in for a December release. That's just us speculating, though. Don't book a special day off work or anything...
