Rose Byrne will return for X-Men: Apocalypse as Moira MacTaggert in a major role.
NewsWhen X-Men: Apocalypse picks up for the final act of the "First Class Trilogy" a character from the first act will be back in a major role: Rose Byrne's Moira MacTaggert.
MacTaggert hasn't been seen since X-Men: First Class, but X-Men: Apocalypsewriter Simon Kinberg promises that “She’s a significant character in the movie." Of course, there are certain issues with her character that need to be resolved. “We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them.”
It also sounds more and more like this film is the last we'll have to deal with this new, extended origin story of the team. Whatever comes after X-Men: Apocalypse should have a little less heavy lifting to do in terms of set-up.
“This movie is the completion of the first arcs of Charles, Eric, Raven, and Hank, who are essentially our main characters. They’re such young actors and young characters, so there’s a lot more story to tell. But as a first phase of their lives, there is this feeling of closure by the end of the movie.”
There's more at Entertainment Weekly, where Simon Kinberg even hints about the possibility of Dazzler finally making her first big screen appearance.
