We’ve seen him get toasted in stoner comedies, now James Fanco will get roasted on Comedy Central’s annual insult-fest. James Franco says will be Comedy Central’s next roasted celebrity on Labor Day.
Franco announced his upcoming gig via Instagram, saying “Hey ya’ll wassup I’m gonna get roasted on Comedy Central be sure to check it out. They wanted me to tell you that — a’ight hahaha.” Comedy Central announced it would tape the roast of the “Academy-nominated actor-director-writer-producer-artist” next month in Los Angeles. The cable network will debut Francophrenia, a new documentary that Franco-co-directed about himself and all things Franco, right after the roast airs.
Comedy Central’s highest rated roast was 2011’s roast of Charlie Sheen, which corresponded with Sheen’s character being killed off in the season debut of Two And A Half Men on CBS. It followed Sheen publicly spilling his tiger blood all over Chuck Lorre who created the show. That roast pulled in 6.4 million viewers and still holds the record for the roast series.
Maybe Roseanne Barr can get him to sing the “National Anthem.”
