Chris Pratt talks about the pressure of playing Indiana Jones, as well as how cool it could be if he were asked to take the part...
NewsLast night, all of Hollywood donned their best dresses and tuxedos to celebrate a year in film—or at least what the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences deemed the best in a year of film. However, beyond Birdman vs. Boyhood, many different types of moviemaking were discussed, including the fate of one Indiana Jones.
In this vein, while chatting with MTV, Chris Pratt neither denied nor confirmed that he was being seriously considered for the role Dr. Henry Jones Jr. at Disney. However, his quizzically noncommittal answer at least suggests that he has considered picking up the fedora and whip.
“It’s all nothing until it’s something, and so far it’s not something,” Pratt said. But when pressed to consider the pressure of the role, Pratt elaborated, “I don’t think it’s overwhelming to contemplate….it’d be cool. No one’s called me. [There has been] a lot of talk about it. The pressure would come just because it’s such a great franchise, you wouldn’t want to get it wrong. So for me, it would have to be perfect to do it.”
We will agree with Pratt that it is nothing until it is something. However, if it was really not something at all, we imagine his answer would be a little less cagey.
Do you want to see Pratt follow in Harrison Ford’s footsteps? We have our own thoughts on the danger of an Indiana Jones reboot here, but what about you?
