Zack Snyder has plans for Aquaman - although don't expect to see much of him in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice...
NewsJust the other week, Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice director Zack Snyder tweeted the first official snap of Jason Momoa as Aquaman in the movie. The character makes his big screen debut in Snyder's film, before getting a standalone Aquaman outing, which is currently due on July 27, 2018.
But just how big will his role be in next year's Batman v. Superman movie? Not very, by the sounds of it. Chatting to Entertainment Weekly, Momoa argued that "it's Batman and Superman. It's not my movie. It's the first time in history to have them both on the screen together, and I'm just excited to see those two up there."
The suggestion has been for some time that characters such as Aquaman and Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot) will get brief introductions in Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice, but not much more than that. Momoa's words do little to make us feel otherwise.
Still, Aquaman will share the screen with them again in the upcoming Justice League pair of movies too, a project Momoa says "is still quite a way aways. But I'm really looking forward to it. Henry's [Cavill] a sweetheart, Ben [Affleck] is a badass, so I'm really looking forward to when we all shoot Justice League."
Momoa added that "it's amazing to be a part of it," in relation to the DC movie universe that Zack Snyder is putting together. "Everything you see that is building, there's a purpose behind the whole plan."
In specific relation to the character of Aquaman, Zack Snyder's "got a whole idea of what Aquaman should be, and I'm really honoured to be playing it," Momoa said.
