Director Christopher McQuarrie on Mission: Impossible 5,
NewsWriter/director Christopher McQuarrie is in the throes of getting Mission: Impossible 5, starring Tom Cruise, ready for release at the end of July. But he's taken a bit of time out of his schedule for a question and answer session on Twitter about the movie.
In it, he confirmed that the teaser trailer and name of the movie are due "very soon." We'll also get some idea of the plot for the new film very shortly as well.
In terms of casting, both Paula Patton and Maggie Q were asked to join the cast, but both were unavailable this time. Still, Simon Pegg's Benji sounds like he has an extended role in this one too, with McQuarrie promising that "Benji gets his hands plenty dirty". He also added that we can expect more time with Ving Rhames in the new movie than we got last time around,
He also revealed that the biggest challenge on the movie has been "time" adding "we're always in a hurry. Now we're in a big f'in hurry." McQuarrie is set to shoot the ending of the film, and then he'll be able to take his footage to the edit room and work full time on finishing his movie off.
Mission: Impossible 5is set for release on July 31st, led by Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg. Sean Harris is the villain this time, and Alec Baldwin is playing the head of the CIA.
