Jurassic World reveals a new Easter Egg for fans that involves Dr. Ian Malcolm's presence in the new Jurassic Park film.
NewsWhile many spent their holiday weekend celebrating Easter or Passover, some were chasing a Jurassic World themed viral Internet quest for spirituality, which led to the being with the largest God complex in all of the Isla Nublar mythology: Dr. Ian Malcolm.
Yes, it appears that at least the name of Jeff Goldblum’s iconic mathematician (that’s chaos-tician) will be appearing in the Jurassic Park reboot, as Jurassic World has helpfully revealed in the title of his new book: “God Creates Dinosaurs.”
While a literal Easter Egg for fans, it certainly is not too servicing for the faithful since it makes perfect sense that Ian Malcolm would be unhappy that Isla Nublar became a theme park in the end. Consider that Malcolm was the only survivor to break his non-disclosure agreement in The Lost World and warned the public about these ancient giants’ return. Now that Jurassic World has cashed in, so too has Ian Malcolm with “God Creates Dinosaurs,” an allusion to one of his famous quote from the original film.
“God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs. Dinosaurs eat man. Woman inherits the Earth.”
The last bit of the quote was completed compliments of Ellie Sadler (Laura Dern). Hopefully, Malcolm gives her credit in his forward or dedication page.
Jurassic World is the fourth trip to Isla Nublar (or Isla Sorna) and its legendary inhabitants, just off the coast of Costa Rica. This time though, it is a fully functioning theme park visited the world over by tourists. I’m sure everything will go swimmingly from there. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film also includes the cast of Chris Pratt, Idris Elba, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, and Irrfan Khan. The film is set to raise its gates on June 12, 2015.
