The directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War are officially on board for Avengers 3 and 4.
This isn't at all surprising, as it's been in the wind for several months now. It's still exciting news, though. Joe and Anthony Russo are now officially on board as directors of the two-part Avengers: Infinity War films. That's Avengers 3 and Avengers 4, in case you're keeping count.
The Russos just began production on Captain America: Civil War, and they'll head straight from that already Avengers-heavy film (Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Panther, and more to be named) into Avengers: Infinity War. We expect Josh Brolin's Thanos will be the villain of these films, and the cast will also feature some new blood like Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther and Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange. Expect more on this once everyone has seen Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is set for release on May 4th, 2018. Part 2 arrives on May 3rd, 2019. Our complete schedule of Marvel movies and TV shows can be found here.
