
Classic horror film Suspiria will be made into a TV series.
NewsDario Argento’s surrealistic supernatural horror classic Suspiria will be made into a TV series by France’s Atlantique Productions and Italy’s Cattleya.
The two productions companies are co-developing and co-producing TV series out of the classic sixties western Django and Dario Argento’s Suspiriafrom 1977.
“The extraordinary freedom of expression and creativity that modern TV drama now offers and the interest that the public has shown towards it have encouraged me to take a stab at this new genre,” Argento said in a statement.
The TV series Suspiria De Profundis will be an English-language series based on Thomas De Quincey’s 19th century book, also called Suspiria De Profundis. Italian horror film director Argento is on board as artistic supervisor.
De Quincey will be the lead character in the Sherlock Holmes style mystery series. Suspiria De Profundiswill be set in London and Rome at the turn of the 20th century. The first season will have 12 fifty-minute episodes.
