Twin Peaks Cast Imagines A Series Without David Lynch

David Lynch quit Showtime’s Twin Peaks series and the cast thinks it’s unimaginable.

Coincidence and fate figure largely in the lives of people in the Twin Peaks universe. Those characters belive that it is fate that Welcome to Twin Peaks be directed by David Lynch, who reportedly quit the Showtime revival series this week over financial and creative issues.

"Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks," Lynch said in a statement. "After one year and four months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done."

A dozen Twin Peaks cast members made an emotional plea on Madchen Amick's Welcome to Twin Peaks fan Whosay page, finishing the sentence "Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like..."

"Twin Peakswithout David Lynch is like a girl without a secret," responds Sheryl Lee, who played Laura Palmer in the original film.

Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like a dog without a bark,” said Dana Ashbrook who played Bobby Briggs.

“... without David Lynch is like eyes without the brows,” said Sherilyn Fenn, who played Audrey Horne.

“... without David Lynch is like a waitress without a uniform," responded Madchen Amick, who played Shelly Johnson.

“... David Lynch is like a pie without cherries,” said Peggy Lipton, who played Norma Jennings.

" ... David Lynch is like a motorcycle without its rider,” said James Marshall, who played James Hurley.

“...is like a sheriff's station without donuts,” said Kimmy Robertson, who played Lucy Moran.

“... is like a letterman jacket without the leather,” said Gary Hershberger, who played Mike Nelson.

"...like a log without its bark,” said Catherine E. Coulson, who played The Log Lady Margaret Lanterman.

"...like drape runners without cotton balls,” said Wendy Robie, who played Nadine Hurley.

“...fire without the heat,” said Al Strobel, who played The One Armed Man Philip Michael Gerard.

“...a hole without the donut,” said Jennifer Lynch, who was typecast as David Lynch's daughter.

“... is like sad without funny... or funny without sad,” said Grace Zabriskie, who played Sarah Palmer.

Twin Peaks without David Lynch is is like Abbott without Costello, Bela without Lugosi... Franken without stein,” said Charlotte Stewart, who played Betty Briggs.
