Avengers: Age Of Ultron has a slightly different title in the UK, and we know its running time...
NewsRemember when The Avengers was released back in 2012, and it got a different title in the UK? Well, that seems to be happening again.
Apparently to avoid confusion with the classic TV series The Avengers, Joss Whedon's original movie was and is officially known as Marvel's Avengers Assemble in Britain. And as it turns out, the sequel - known as Avengers: Age Of Ultron in the US - will have a slightly different name in the UK again.
According to the BBFC, this time around the movie is going to be called Marvel Avengers: The Age Of Ultron on these shores (note it's Marvel, not Marvel's). We're not quite sure if they think we're conjuring up images of Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg still, but that's the name it'll be going by over here.
As part and parcel of the BBFC certification process, we also know the running time for the film, in Britain at least. The BBFC has confirmed that Marvel Avengers: The Age Of Ultronplays for 141 minutes and 6 seconds. That must include the inevitable post-credits sting(s) as well.
The movie has been given, as you'd expect, a 12A certificate in Britain, for "moderate fantasy violence, threat, occasional bloody moments" and it was passed uncut.
There's mildly spoiler BBFC Insight information available too (which you can find via the link below), which goes into a little more detail on the violence and level of threat. It also reveals that the film has some fruity language, including words such as 'bastard', 'shit', 'dick' and 'son of a bitch.' We feel it our moral responsibility to pass such potty-mouthed information your way.
Marvel Avengers: The Age Of Ultron (as we're unlikely to keep calling it) arrives in UK cinemas on April 23rd and in the US on May 1st.
