"I think that there’s room for a standalone movie" says Scarlett Johansson of Black Widow, ahead of Avengers: Age Of Ultron's release.
NewsScarlett Johansson is the latest to be chatting about Marvel projects. In particular, she was asked by Collider as to the possibility of a solo movie for Black Widow, the role she first originated in the Marvel cinematic universe way back in Iron Man 2.
"I've spoken to Kevin [Feige] about it," she confirmed. "I mean, of course, of course, we've had that conversation before, and It hink Kevin would also like to see a standalone film. I think I can speak for him and say that," she said.
"That's all, really," she noted though. "Right now I think this character is used well in this part of the universe."
However, "I think that there’s room for a standalone movie," she reiterated. "The character has a really rich origin story and I’ve been really fortunate to kind of place all these layers on top of one another and kind of build up this character to this point where I think I can now start to peel them away and reveal different sides of her and really focus on."
Johansson admitted too that her relationship with Marvel was and is a strong one. And it sounds as if she's likely to be playing Black Widow for some time to come.
