The new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer is here! We've broken it down for an in-depth analysis...
The new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer has arrived. That means it's time to break the entire thing down for clues, secrets, and any easter eggs. For an analysis of the first trailer, go here.
We'll be updating this analysis throughout the day as we find more clues!
Okay, here we go:

We open on Jakku -- Abrams revealed that was the name of the desert planet we saw in the first teaser. It's not Tatooine. We're guessing that's Daisy Ridley's character, Rey, riding a landspeeder across the landscape.
Yes, that's a fallen X-Wing buried in the sand. Yes, that's a massive Imperial Star Destroyer drilled into the desert after some kind of battle. No clue where this planet is located. But there was a battle here at some point.

We cut to a shot of Darth Vader's melted helmet, as Luke Skywalker's voice over begins. "The Force is strong in my family." That monologue is from Return of the Jedi. Luke revealed to Leia that he's her brother on Endor in the Ewok camp.
Vader, of course, was cremated on a pyre at the end of the film, Luke the only witness. Who knows who got their hands on that helmet.

R2-D2 waiting by a fire, presumably on Jakku. The dude with the robot hand has long been rumored to be Max von Sydow's character. Note that the robot hand is much more advanced than Anakin's or Luke's. More and more we think about it, though, this is probably Luke. The voice over in this shot seems to indicate that. "I have it."

That's definitely a lightsaber. Is it Luke's? Those are the rumors. Although, this isn't his lightsaber from Return of the Jedi. Rather, it looks more like his original one from The Empire Strikes Back. He lost the saber, along with his hand, on Bespin...
The arm on the right almost definitely belongs to Daisy Ridley. The one receiving the lightsaber must be Leia, especially since Luke's voice over that clip is "My sister has it..."

The new X-Wings on full display here, as they fly over that mystery world with the forest and river. This shot looks beautiful.

Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron is flying one of those X-Wings and being a total bro about it. He's wearing that new Rebel pilot helmet. Check out the Rebel Alliance insignia on his vest. Or is that now The New Republic insignia?

Quick shot of Kylo Ren's lightsaber broadsword. Ren looks huge in this shot. It really must be Adam Driver under that mask and hood.

Cut to Rey and John Boyega's Finn running for their lives with BB-8, the new soccer ball droid. There's a TIE Fighter chasing them. It looks like this also takes place on Jakku.

Kylo Ren using the Force while his Stormtroopers watch on. He definitely works for the Empire. There are people watching in the background that don't look like Stormtroopers. Captured soldiers?
Also, do those Stormtroopers all the way in the back have flamethrowers?

That's an Imperial base full of bad guys. Are they on Hoth? Wouldn't that be ironic...

Better shot of Rey. She looks tired.

A good look at the TIE Fighters, which look like they also received a bit of a design upgrade. Their armor is a bit darker. Some sort of homage to Black Squadron, Vader's personal wing?

This is an Imperial hangar, and it looks like that TIE Fighter is firing on the Stormtroopers. Maybe the rebel scum are making an escape...
Perhaps the best thing about that TIE Fighter hangar shot is how very real it looks. JJ Abrams has talked about how devoted to practical effects they are for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and this looks like it has some weight to it.

Finn takes off his Stormtrooper helmet. He's part of the Empire in the beginning of the story. Rumors are that he's one the run.
Also, is that some kind of handmade insignia on his helmet? It looks like the hand of Saruman. Sorry, wrong franchise.

Those are all new designs for Imperial ships. A new class of Star Destroyer and Imperial Shuttle. Not sure what those little ships are. They almost look like Imperial UAVs.

Rumor has it that Gwendonline Christie plays the new Chrometrooper (aka Captain Phasma in some circles). The fact that she wears a cape seems to signify that she's very high ranking and serves someone very important in the Empire.
That rock wall on the left seems to hint that she's on a base somewhere. Maybe Jakku again...

BB-8 looking around a corner in the...IS THAT THE FALCON?!? This shot also calls back to the early moments of A New Hope, specifically R2-D2's first meeting with Leia.

Rey and Finn are teaming up.

The Falcon is being chased by TIE Fighters. It zooms into the exhaust port of a crashed ship -- it almost looks like the carcass of a Corellian Corvette, you know, the one from A New Hope. You guys are probably right. This ship is way too big for a Corellian Corvette. The armor indicates an Imperial ship?

Those Imperial fighter pilots look like they have chrome armor, too. What is this, '50s space opera? Love it.

"Chewie, we're home" made us jump out of our seats. It looks like they lost their Falcon at some point and had to get it back by force. Han's new look -- the white shirt with...Indy jacket -- is awesome.
As always, let us know if we missed anything! We're strong with the Force, but still make mistakes sometimes.
