Check out the first image of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales...
NewsIf the title is anything to go by, the new Pirates of the Caribbean film promises to keep discretion and secrecy as the name of the game. At least onscreen. When it’s off, it’s all about announcing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is in production, and Johnny Depp is back as Captain Jack Sparrow!
For proof, check no further than Jerry Bruckheimer’s latest tweet of Johnny Depp as witty Jack, and he appears to be in a bit of trouble. No worries, I feel like we’ve seen him get out of this one before…
In the latest film, Depp’s Sparrow is being hounded by an old rival named Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), who has escaped the Bermuda Triangle with a gang of ghost pirates. Salazar plans to kill Sparrow along with all other seafaring pirates, so Sparrow must find the Trident of Poseidon if he wishes to save the day. Ghost pirates? I’m telling you guys, I think we have seen this one already…
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, and is written by Jeff Nathanson. It also stars Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa. The film sets sail into multiplexes on July 7, 2017.
