Horror thriller The Vatican Tapes promises one hell of a time this summer.
Coming this summer from Lionsgate Films is The Vatican Tapes, which stars Olivia Taylor Dudley (Transcendence) as a young woman possessed not just by your average everyday demon, but something much more powerful and ancient that could threaten the world itself. Michael Pena plays a priest who is tasked with waging war against this evil force and saving the girl’s soul in the process, a tall order for anyone even if they’ve seen how to do it in The Exorcist.
A new trailer has just been issued for the film, which was actually shot about two years ago and is directed by Mark Neveldine – yes, one half of the Neveldine/Taylor combo that gave us movies like Crank and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The picture, which also stars Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Dougray Scott (Taken 3), arrives theatrically on July 24. Check out the trailer and poster below.
