The third Shanghai movie, Shanghai Dawn, is finally on, it seems...
NewsNow here's a threequel (yeah, we used that word. Not our finest hour) that we never really thought would happen. Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are reuniting for the very belated Shanghai Dawn.
A quick recap on the series so far. Shanghai Noon was an excellent series opener, and a solid hit. The sequel, Shanghai Knights, wasn't up to the same standard, and the box office fizzled a bit (although it still did respectable numbers). Plans for chapter three were quietly put away.
Now, 12 years later, the project is back on. It's early stages, as the hunt is currently on for screenwriters. It's unclear too whether directors Tom Dey (Noon) or David Dobkin (Knights) would return. Thus far, it's just Wilson and Chan who are confirmed to be back.
More on Shanghai Dawn as we hear it. We hope this one gets made, to be honest. Even the second one was still good fun...
