Before Jurassic World's release, Chris Pratt denies rumors that he is involved with an Indiana Jones reboot or a Ghostbusters spin-off.
NewsChris Pratt is a very, very busy man. Already gearing up for a global tour of press junkets in relation to his latest summer action movie, next month's Jurassic World, he will barely have time to rest before beginning production on Guardians of the Galaxy 2, a sequel that starts shooting in February 2016. With so much going on, it's rather amazing that in addition to those projects, Pratt also supposed to be Dr. Henry Jones Jr. in a Disney released Indiana Jones reboot, as well as possibly co-starring with Channing Tatum in a Ghostbusters spin-off from the current reboot. At least, that's what the Internet says, right?
Well as it turns out on both counts that Pratt thinks the reports of his growing film schedule have been greatly exaggerated. While chatting with GQ about Jurassic World--and being relatively frank about his mixed feelings on his "chubby sidekick" days on Parks and Rec, as well as how he is signed on to Guardians 2, Guardians 3, and several more mystery Marvel projects--Pratt vehemently denied the rumors of his involvement with either franchise.
Pratt recalls that he was on a four-day hunt in Texas when the rumors broke out that he'd be Indiana Jones. "And I came home, and then there was paparazzi asking me about it and people asking me to sign Indiana Jones pictures and Indiana Jones hats," he said. However, Pratt suggests that he was simply told in passing once at Disney that the studio had secured the rights to Indiana Jones, but he responded that his action plate was full. Indeed, if Jurassic World is a hit, he has plenty of more sequels to worry about. Then again, he did not deny or state that he would be unopen to the Indiana Jones role. However, he was much more blunt when discussing his supposed Ghostbusters project.
"No one has ever even spoken to me about that," Pratt said. "Never. I've even seen Channing a couple times. As far as I know, that's complete bullshit."
So, while Sony might have multiple Ghostbusters films brewing in the containment unit, it sounds pretty unlikely that Pratt is getting slimed anytime soon. However, before he dons the fedora, perhaps Pratt should consider the dangers involved in touching that sacred cinematic idol. In the meantime, we can at least count on seeing Star-Lord many more times for the next decade (or two).
