Terminator: Genisys TV Spot Features Evil John Connor

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

In the new Terminator: Genisys TV spot, it appears that even though the timeline has been drastically altered by an Arnold Schwarzenegger-played T-800 traveling further back in the timeline to protect young Sarah Connor, she still ends up in a jail cell for questioning as a battle hardened adult. Yet, there is a wrinkle this time (and I’m not talking about the T-800’s real-time aging face!). Indeed, while Emilia Clarke’s Sarah is being questioned in one room, Schwarzenegger’s vintage killer cyborg is getting the same treatment in another room…until he goes all Kal-El on them and breaks free of his handcuffs.

So without further ado, enjoy the new trailer, which also includes the new John Connor (played by Jason Clarke) as an apparently villainous cyborg promising that within a day, “the machines will rule this world.” So…now the only way to save the world is to stop John Connor?!

Ahem, Sarah, I think there’s an easy answer to that, which Skynet has been chasing since 1984…And if they went that direction it might be a bold new take, indeed.
