Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation might just be followed quite quickly by Mission: Impossible 6...
NewsGenerally, there's been a wait of at least three or four years between Mission: Impossible films. This summer's Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, the fifth in the series, follows that last adventure by just under four (although that's in part down to Paramount shifting it forward nearly five months). And that's sprightly by the standards of the series thus far.
However, it may be that Mission: Impossible 6 follows even sooner.
It's being reported that Paramount Pictures is already working with Bad Robot and Skydance Productions on Mission: Impossible 6, which would presumably once again see Tom Cruise take on the role of Ethan Hunt.
Cruise is certainly set to produce again, alongside J.J. Abrams, David Ellison and Dana Goldberg. Elizabeth Raposo, reports The Tracking Board, has been appointed to oversee the development of whatever Mission: Impossible 6 ends up being called.
Given that Mission: Impossible is one of Paramount's most potent movie franchises - and it's certainly Tom Cruise's safest box office bet - we suspect there's substance to this story.
Furthermore, considering that each Mission: Impossible movie has had a different director too, it'll be interesting to see who gets recruited for this one.
More as we hear it.
