Dax Shepard's movie of CHiPs lands the actor behind Daredevil's acclaimed villain...
NewsThe leading contender for screen villain of the year at the moment is surely Vincent D'Onofrio, off the back of his performance as Wilson Fisk in Netflix's Daredevil TV series. Hollywood has certainly been watching too, as the actor is reportedly in negotiations with Warner Bros. to play the antagonist in the studio's big budget take on the TV show CHiPs.
CHiPs is set to star Dax Shephard and Michael Pena, with Shephard also taking on writing and directing duties. The film will, of course, be based on the hit television show of the late 70s and early 80s, which saw Officer Jon Baker and 'Ponch' Poncherello patrolling the highways of California on their motorbikes.
D'Onofrio's role is of a former cop who has switched sides, now running an organization of car thieves. Expect car chases, and expect Warner Bros. to use the film to try and follow the huge success of the Fast & Furious movies.
CHiPs is likely to go into production later this year.
