It looks like there are three new Jump Street movies in the works - including the female-headlined spin-off, that's just landed new writers.
NewsSony has a few different options ahead of it as it builds on the successes of Chris Miller and Phil Lord's 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street movies. We already know that the studio has put 23 Jump Street onto its docket, with a screenplay being worked on by Rodney Rothman. Rumours persist, too, of a Jump Streetand Men In Black crossover movie.
And then there's the spinoff movie, that's going to focus primarily on female Jump Street characters. In particular on Fugazy and Jr Jr, as played by Dakota Johnson and Rye Rye in the first Jump Street movie.
The studio has now hired a pair of writing teams to pursue the project, with the aim being to go with the one that comes up with the most suitable script. As such, we already knew that Broad City's Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs were on board, but now the Bob's Burger's duo of Lizzy and Wendy Molyneux have also been hired.
There's no word yet of a potential director, nor of a release date. But as we find out more about the growing Jump Street collection of movies, we shall pass the news on...
