London Has Fallen has been moved from its October 2015 release date to a 2016 one by Millennium Films...

It looks like disaster/action movie cliché enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer for London’s calling, because London Has Fallen has just moved over three months down the schedule.

Originally set to open on Oct. 2, the anticipated sequel to 2013’s surprise spring hit of Olympus Has Fallen has been prudently moved by Millennium Films to Jan. 22, 2015. The move is more than likely the result of Ridley Scott and 20th Century Fox’s The Martian—the latest serious science fiction picture about space travel and that stars Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain—switching up its November release date to the Oct. 2 weekend frame.

London Has Fallen picks up with the President of the United States and Secret Service tag-team of Aaron Eckhart and Gerard Butler from the first Fallen picture now in London following the mysterious death of Britain’s Prime Minister. With the leaders of the world gathered, a terrorist organization uses the opportunity to strike and attempt a realignment of world power. It is now up to both Butler’s John McClane-esque hero and Eckhart’s POTUS to save the day with the help of a CIA agent (Charlotte Riley). Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, and Jackie Earle Hayley also star in the picture.
