X-Men: Days Of Future Past Review

Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse looks like it's found space for Hugh Jackman's Wolverine after all...

News

It had long been suspected that Hugh Jackman would be reprising the role of Wolverine once again in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse. The actor hasn't ruled it out, and his coy responses have led many of us to join the proverbial dots. Correctly, in this case.

Jackman's involvement though has broken courtesy of a company called Kika NY, a firm that makes customised leather goods (not those sorts, so behave yourselves). And in a post to Instagram, it revealed that "we were just asked to make a special duffle backpack for Hugh Jackman who is filming the new X MEN movie in Montreal. We started sketching - The bag will be ready next week- we will keep you posted!"

We've no idea what's in Hugh's backpack, but you can see the sketch of it here. Note that the post was put up four weeks ago, and has only just been noticed, so it's feasible that Jackman's X-Men: Apocalypse work is already done. Our guess is that his role in the new movie is not a large one. But we could, by distance not for the first time, be wrong there.

Bryan Singer is shooting the film for release next May. After that, Jackman is set to play Wolverine for the final time in 2017's The Wolverine 3, for director James Mangold. Then, it's up to Fox whether to recast, reboot or retire the character for the time being...
