Triplets, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy, is apparently set to go ahead after all...
NewsIt's been an on-off project ever since Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to movie-making following his political stint. But it seems as though the sequel to Twins is back up and running.
Titled Triplets, the movie is set to reunite Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, with Ivan Reitman yet to decide whether he wants to direct this one (he'll at the very least produce). However, the project had been on hold at Universal. Yet in a new interview with Howard Stern, Arnie has confirmed that "Triplets is happening." And the plan is still to cast Eddie Murphy as the third brother.
"We are talking about a sequel, where we find out at the funeral of our mother, when we read the will, that there’s three of us," Schwarzenegger revealed. Thus the hunt is on for the long-lost brother. "Eddie Murphy loves the idea. Danny DeVito and I had lunch with Eddie Murphy over at my house, and talked about the thing, and we were laughing and laughing the whole meal through because it was such a funny idea."
That said, Arnie's immediate priority may yet be the next Terminatorfilm, and a new revenge drama that he's just committed to, 478. Still, if script fine-tuning is complete, as Schwarzenegger suggests it is, then Triplets may yet jump the queue...
