The second of the new Ghostbusters movies has hit problems, it seems...
NewsPaul Feig is currently shooting his new Ghostbusters movie, headlined by Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, that's set to arrive in cinemas next summer. Yet progress on the second planned Ghostbusters film, that Channing Tatum is set to headline, has not been so smooth, it seems.
As part of his interview with Howard Stern on his radio program, Tatum was asked as to the status of his Ghostbusters film. While Ivan Reitman remains involved, Tatum has thrown a bit of doubt on the project. "That thing's gotten messy," he told Stern. "I gotta be honest. There's a lot of people doing a lot of things on Ghostbusters."
So is his film still going ahead? "Yeah. I don't know is the answer."
The movie, last we heard, involved writer Drew Pearce, along with directors Joe and Anthony Russo. Tatum was involved as producer, as well as presumably being mooted to star in the film. However, there's been little word on it since news of the project came to light in March.
We guess this one's wait and see, and Sony's plans for a broader Ghostbustersuniverse may yet hinge on the success or otherwise of Paul Feig's movie too.
