Rose McGowan's Tweet regarding the casting note for a future Adam Sandler movie has seen her dropped by her casting agents. Sigh.
NewsAt the end of last week, actress and director Rose McGowan tweeted a casting note that she had received with a script. The wardrobe note suggested "black (or dark) form fitting tank that shows off cleavage (push up bras encouraged). And form fitting leggings or jeans. Nothing white."
She didn't specifically state who the star of the movie was, but dropped a large hint: "name of male star rhymes with Madam Panhandler," she wrote, which meant Ryan Gosling was off the suspects list, and Adam Sandler was firmly on it.
Staggeringly, McGowan has now paid a price for her tweet. She's revealed today that she has been fired by her acting agent - named by The Hollywood Reporter as Innovative Artists - in the following Tweet...
I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bullshit in Hollywood. Hahaha. #douchebags#awesome#BRINGIT

In a subsequent interview with Entertainment Weekly, she's talked more, as well as confirming that it was an Adam Sandler film the initial tweet was in relation to. She said that she was "not trying to vilify" Sandler, but did add that "someone did tell me that when he did his Netflix deal, he said 'I signed with Netflix because it rhymes with Wet Chicks.' I mean, what? What in the fuck is going on? No!”
"It was just so dumb," she said of the casting note. "I was offended by the stupidity more than anything. I was offended by the fact that went through so many people's hands and nobody red flagged it. This is normal to so many people. It was probably even a girl that had to type it up. It's institutionally okay".
She also added that "when I did my first film, I was told by my agent that I would need to have long hair so men in this town would want to fuck me and hire me. That was said to a 17-year-old."
