You'd hardly say that the publication of his latest book, Inferno, has earned author Dan Brown rave reviews, but it's stormed up the bestseller charts, and proven to be a massive hit. And inevitably, given that this is the book that sees the return of the character of Robert Langdon - following The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons - there's been the question as to whether Tom Hanks would return for the movie version.
The answer? That's be a yes. It's now been confirmed that Sony Pictures is pressing ahead with a movie of Inferno, and it's already announced a release date. The movie is due in cinemas on December 18th 2015.
Furthermore, not only is Tom Hanks, but director Ron Howard is also going to be returning behind the camera. It'll mark the only live action trilogy on both Howard and Hanks' respective CVs (although why the likes of The Lost Symbol has been missed out is a mystery to us).
More news on the movie as we get it. Hope it's better than the last two...
