Lionsgate released character posters for the second Hunger Games movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Lionsgate declared the 75th Hunger Games Quarter Quell with a series of eleven character posters in their new costumes for the second movie in the Hunger Games series, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The posters show Katniss and Peeta; Johanna Mason; Finnick and Mags; Wiress and Beete; Brutus and Enobaria and Cashmere and Gloss, the former Hunger Games victors who will participate in the Quarter Quell. The posters show them wearing black-grey bodysuits with a logo representing the 75th Hunger Games on each pic.

The Capitol marks the anniversary of its victory over the districts with a special edition of The Games every quarter century. For the latest game, the favorite Victors will return to the playing field as Tributes for the first time in history.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire follows the book and movie series about a future dictatorial government that pits its citizens against each other in a display of their total control, Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, has returned home safe after scored a sentimental co-victory, winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark, played by Josh Hutcherson, her fellow District 12 combatant, to survive, some might say win, the Hunger Games. This was the first time in Panem history that there have been co-winners. After returning to District 12, the two winners, Katniss and Peeta, try to get back to their old lives and regular routines. But they are called to go on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.  Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), their mentor for the first match, warns them that by co-winning the games, the pair instigated open rebellion in the impoverished districts of Panem. This has enraged the Capitol government and the despotic President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland. Snow retaliates by finding a way to send them back to the arena, along with other previous victors of the Hunger Games. One male and female tribute will still be chosen from each of the 12 districts, but, unlike previous Hunger Games, the 12 to 18 year old age limit is not in force. President Snow hopes this will teach the tributes a lesson that will resonate back in the districts and stop the simmering rebellion.

The Capitol has mandated that District Members must #CelebrateYourVictors.  You can learn more about the upcoming film and check out the posters at TheHungerGamesExplorer.com.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force and Jon Kilik. The novel that the film is based on is the second in a trilogy of books that has sold over 50 million copies in the U.S. The film also stars Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci. A new Catching Fire trailer will premiere Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in theaters nationwide on November 22, 2013.
