Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke has signed on to star in a 1950s-set psychological thriller that takes a turn for the supernatural.
In last night’s Game of Thrones Season 4 finale, Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons, had a difficult heart-to-heart with the kids, and real life counterpart Emilia Clarke is signing up for even more childhood trauma with the psychological and supernatural thriller Voice from the Stone.
As reported by Deadline, Clarke is set to star as a nurse in a 1950s setting that must help a boy through grief after the sudden and mysterious death of his mother while occupying an Italian castle. However, the closer Clarke’s protagonist gets to the boy, the more apparent nefarious and malevolent forces make themselves known in the remote setting.
The film is based on the Italian novel La Voce Della Pietra by Silvio Raffo and is set to be directed by first-time helmer Eric D. Howell.
Clarke has already traveled back in time before when she made her Broadway debut as a 1940s-era Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and she will see a much more literal form of the journey in next summer’s Terminator: Genesis, a reboot directed by Game of Thrones collaborator Alan Taylor.
Voice from the Stone is scheduled to begin shooting in November.
