North Korea has escalated its complaint against Seth Rogen's next movie to the United Nations.

Well, this one's showing no sign of dying down. A few weeks back, it was revealed that the North Korean authorities had not taken kindly to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's upcoming comedy, The Interview. The premise of the new comedy sees a pair of unlikely assassins being tasked by the CIA with taking out North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. James Franco co-stars with Rogen in the movie.

Previously, a spokesperson for North Korea declared that the film was "an act of war", arguing that "making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated."

"A merciless counter-measure" has been promised in return if the release of the film goes ahead.

It's now been revealed that things have not stopped there. North Korea has formally complained to the United Nations about the upcoming movie, which is set for release in October.

In a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon (sent around the same time as this story came to light in the first place), North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations, Ja Song Nam, argues that "To allow the production and distribution of such a film on the assassination of an incumbent head of a sovereign state should be regarded as the most undisguised sponsoring of terrorism as well as an act of war". The letter demands that "The United States authorities should take immediate and appropriate actions to ban the production and distribution of the aforementioned film; otherwise, it will be fully responsible for encouraging and sponsoring terrorism".

As things stand, The Interview's release date is not budging, and we're not aware of any response from the UN. Team America is watching, though.

The Wrap.

PLEASE ditch the tablet version of Den Of Geek US. Or at the least stop it defaulting to the tablet version when viewing to iPad. The layout is abysmal, there are typos everywhere, the full page ads are dreadful and the pictures appear corrupted or squashed. Whoever programs the tablet version looks to be at a fifth grade level. It's pretty much made me migrate permanently to joblo.com
