This might just be the most wonderfully sounding bonkers on the horizon: an unofficial Baywatch film, with quite a plot...
It's little secret that plans have been in place for some time to bring Baywatchto the big screen. And yet, try as they might, those attempting to get the film made haven't yet got that elusive green light.
Perhaps then they should take a leaf out of the book of Chris Cottom. He's the director of an unofficial Baywatchspin-off film that's heading to our screens. It's called The B-Team, because its makers haven't got the rights to use the Baywatchname, but it does feature some of the original actors from the TV show. Specifically, Jaason Simmons, Alexandra Paul, and Jeremy Jackson. There's no confirmation either way on the involvement of David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. Let's call them both long shots for now.
In The B-Team, however, the actors who do return are going to be playing themselves, and we learn that when they travelled the world to promote the show, they were, er, actually working as CIA spies. The movie is described as an action comedy, and it's now cast John Cleese as Victor Van Vaught, an old-style villain with the ability to control nuclear weapons from the relaxed surroundings of his yacht in the Mediterranean.
We've no timings on the movie yet, but we can assure you that it won't be called Baywatch.
