The power of Christ compels me write that network TV is looking at The Exorcistfor a series. Either that or the devil's making me do it. (Or my editors, equally evil) The Exorcist turns 40 this year and it spawned sequels and copycats and a host (yeah, I know what that sounds like) of devilish celluloid. Morgan Creek, which signed a satanic contract to own the rights to William Friedkin’s horror classic is shopping around a drama series.
The screenplay for The Exorcist TV series pilot was written by Jeremy Slater, who wrote the script for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie reboot. Broadcast and cable networks are already ready to sell their souls for a chance to take Lucifer’s favorite pre-teen to the small screen.
Roy Lee, who was the executive producer of The Departed and The Ring, is already on board. He and Morgan Creek tried to sell a limited series project that was written by Sean Durkin. No luck.
There are no further details on the series yet.
