James Bond 24 is finally ready to go ahead, it's being reported, after script issues were resolved...
It's been a bit quiet on the James Bond 24 front of late. The film needs to get going before the end of the year if it's to hit its October 2015 release date. Sam Mendes is, of course, returning to direct, and Daniel Craig will be back as Bond. But it's only now that the green light has been given.
The reason, reports the Daily Mail's Baz Bamingboye, is "a fire-alarm call from Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes to rescue the screenplay." John Logan had written James Bond 24, but then Bond specialists Robert Wade and Neil Purvis were called in to sort out script problems
Bamingboye reports that "Logan's effort had been politely moved aside", and that "there was an awful lot of work to do". "The impression given was that Purvis and Wade were hired to add jokes - but it was a bigger deal than that", he cites a studio executive as saying.
The plan is now for James Bond 24 to start shooting at the end of November, or early December. The film remains on schedule.
