The Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino starring film The Devil’s Advocate is getting the telly treatment.
As has been rather comprehensively chronicled on this site, we have seen many films being made into TV series in recent years. From the success of Fargoto the bizarre decision to revive Legionthrough a follow-up series Dominion, nothing seems to be off-limits for a TV reboot.
Following in the footsteps of MTV’s Screamand HBO’s Westworld, NBC are now looking to grab a slice of the film-adaptation pie with a new version of The Devil’s Advocate.
The filmic version, which starred Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino, is a difficult act to follow, Having grossed $153m and picked up the Saturn Award for Best Horror Film back in 1997. It is, also, a hoot.
As with the original, the new version of The Devil’s Advocate will focus on a young lawyer who joins a firm run by the Devil himself. Our dream casting for Satan? Reaper’s Ray Wise, of course.
Rumour has it that the pilot episode is being developed currently. More news as it comes in.
