Benedict Cumberbatch will lend his voice to Warner Bros. live-action hybrid Jungle Book movie. You'll never guess who he's playing.
Need a little Benedict Cumberbatch casting news? We're here for you.
Not content with voicing the most famous dragon in literary history for the Hobbitfilms, Benedict Cumberbatch has jumped on board Andy Serkis' directorial debut, the live-action/motion capture Jungle Book movie, Jungle Book: Origins. Now, which character from Rudyard Kipling's beloved Jungle Book would be just perfect for Mr. Cumberbatch?
Go on. Guess.
Oh, please. Like there was ever any doubt about who he would play? Benedict Cumberbatch is none other than Shere Khan the tiger. You were expecting him to play Baloo, or something?
This isn't to be confused with Disney's competing live-action Jungle Bookmovie (I've made that mistake, myself) which stars Idris Elba as Shere Khan. It's like a battle of beloved badasses for the legacy of that evil tiger, isn't it?
Jungle Book: Origins opens on October 21st, 2016.
