Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four looks wonderful. Watch the first three minutes here...
"It was the seedy, dark side of Hollywood..."
While the current Fantastic Four movie at 20th Century Fox is shrouded in secrecy, and the previous two films failed to capture the imaginations of audiences, there is another Fantastic Four project about to arrive: Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four. It's a documentary about the little seen (but often bootlegged) FF movie that was made for (wait for it) one million dollars in 1994. Think about that.
We've reported on Doomedbefore, because it looks fascinating. The good folks involved with Doomedhave released the first three minutes on line. It looks like a loving tribute to a movie that, in many ways, isn't quite as bad as you've heard. More importantly, the people who made the movie really believed in what they were doing. It looks like they all get a chance to chat about it.

Between this, The Death of Superman Lives, and the recently released (and impossibly brilliant) Jodorowsky's Dune, it's a good time for documentaries about nerdy movies that never really saw the light of day. Hats off to director Marty Langford and producer Mark Sikes for trying to bring this sotry to the masses. Hopefully this leads to some kind of official release of the Corman flick, as well...but if you look hard enough, you can find it.
You can learn more about Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Fourat their site. You can also preorder the Blu-ray DVD combo pack over there. We're still hoping to get word on a release date soon.
