Magnolia has released a new trailer for the upcoming Gregg Araki thriller, White Bird in a Blizzard. And by looking at its impressive cast, which includes Shailene Woodley (Divergent), Eva Green (Penny Dreadful), Christopher Meloni (Man of Steel), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Angela Bassett (American Horror Story: Coven), Gabourey Sidibe (Precious), and Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead), it’s easy to see where the marketing is going.
In the film, Kat Connors (Woodley) is the apathetic daughter of happy homebody Eve (Green) until the mother up and leaves one day. Convinced she is unaffected by her mother’s abrupt and mysterious departure, Kat insists she thinks nothing of it or her introverted father Brock (Meloni). But soon she has to confront the profound sadness that her mother’s bizarre absence has created, as well as the role of local authorities, personified by Jane.
So when Kat comes from college one afternoon, she must confront the truth.
