Steven Spielberg has been linked to developing a Minority Report TV series with Godzilla writer Max Borenstein.
In a move that perhaps only those gifted with pre-cognition saw coming, Steven Spielberg is in the midst of developing his hit 2002 sci-fi movie Minority Report into a TV series.
According to TheWrap, Spielberg has tapped Max Borenstein, screenwriter on this summer’s Godzilla, to pen an adaptation of the film for the small screen. The series would be produced under the Spielberg banner of Amblin Television.
Minority Report was the well-received Spielberg actioner that starred Tom Cruise as a man possibly wrongfully accused. In actuality, he has been predicted to become a murderer by psychics used in future crimes. Indeed, Cruise’s protagonist was the lead officer of “PreCrime” until the precogs suggested that he would murder a man believed to have killed his son. The film was based on a short story by Philip K. Dick and earned more than $350 million worldwide. It also won the Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film of that year.
