Fantastic Four reboot director Josh Trank has revealed the first official look at The Thing and the team's logo.

Josh Trank wants you to know a few things about the new Fantastic Four movie. The director, who vanished from social media at the start of the film's production, returned on Saturday night to officially announce that principal photography had wrapped. In celebration, he tweeted out a few little clues, and even invited fans to participate in a little Q&A session, where he revealed a few significant details.

For starters, though, he gave us our first "official" look at the Thing. It's the same production photo that leaked last month, and any doubts about its authenticity evaporated when we were hit with a scary lawyer letter asking us to take it down. Since this one came from the director, we assume that anything written in legalese will be directed at him this time.

Anyway, here it is again...

Here it is, just a little larger...

Mr. Trank confirmed that Jamie Bell wore a full mo-cap suit for his Thing performance, and also revealed that Bell is "a great crier," which certainly speaks to that undercurrent of tragedy the character has always had. At the very least, this all sounds quite faithful to the comics.

What else did we learn? He said that Toby Kebbel's Doctor Doom performance "scared the crap out of" him. And in case there was any question of whether or not the team would have uniforms, they do. But "they're not tight, I can tell you that." And speaking of those uniforms...

The director re-tweeted something from Jaylen Moore who has a role in the film as "Delta Force Leader." The photo shows a windbreaker given to cast and crew in appreciation of their work, and it's emblazoned with what can only be the official "four" of the movie. It's not much, but it's all we've got...

As for the casting "controversy" surrounding Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, he had a rather great answer: "I didn't choose to make Johnny black. I chose to make Michael Johnny." As for the issue of whether Johnny and Sue are still brother and sister, he promised that they're "still siblings."

While the film may have a similar feel to Chronicle, he promised that Fantastic Four won't be a "found footage" movie. He also said that we'd get  some kind of official first look "late this year."

As for Fantastic Four 2, even though that film is currently scheduled for a July 14th, 2017 release, Mr. Trank said that it's still "too soon to tell" whether or not he'll be directing it. He does have a commitment to a certain Star Wars franchise, so we can understand his hesitation.

UPDATE: While this Twitter account isn't verified, neither was his last one...which was also the same username. If it's a fake, it's a fairly restrained one.

The Fantastic Four will hit theaters on June 19th, 2015.
