International banner gives glimpse of Ultron’s creation.
Although he was visible -- barely -- in the distant background of the first poster image for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, we haven’t really gotten a good look at Paul Bettany as the Vision in the film…until now.
Someone snapped a photo (via ScreenCrush) in front of a large banner for the movie at some sort of international marketing expo, and right there alongside the rest of the Avengers is Ultron’s “son” in what looks like a very faithful recreation of his classic look from the comics. Of course, this is an illustrated banner, not an actual photo of Bettany in costume (and it is our understanding that he will be in costume, not created through CG), but it’s the first real idea we’ve gotten of how the Vision will appear in the film.
And guess what? He looks pretty much how you would want the Vision to appear. Hopefully we’ll get to see him in action in a new trailer at some point between now and next May, but in the meantime this is a good sign that Joss Whedon and Paul Bettany have done an awesome job in bringing one of Marvel’s more bizarre major characters to long-awaited cinematic life.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on May 1, 2015.
