Shawn Levy and Hugh Jackman continue to eye up Real Steel 2 - but admit that "the clock is ticking".
Director Shawn Levy has a pair of films arriving in cinemas over the coming months. He's got ensemble comedy drama This Is Where I Leave You first of all, and then Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb is landing at Christmas.
However, he's also had one eye on a future project, as he's revealed to Coming Soon that "we have been quietly developing a sequel to Real Steel for three and a half years."
The robot fighting movie, starring Hugh Jackman, did good business worldwide on its original release, and there had indeed been chatter about doing a follow up. "We've come up with some great scripts but Hugh and I would only make it if the plot feels fresh, but the also the character journeys feel fresh, and we've found both but never at the same time," Levy said.
Admitting that "I know the clock is ticking," Levy added that "I have this sense that we better make that happen soon or frankly, the audience may not be there in the same way. So we shall see."
